Electricity Generators

OPG consists of most of the power generation assets of the former Ontario Hydro and is one of the largest power generators in North America.
  Bruce Power

Bruce Power is a private corporation which produces approximately 20% of Ontario's electricity. Bruce Power leases its main generation assets, the Bruce nuclear facilities, from OPG.

Electricity Transmission & Distribution

Hydro One

Hydro One is primarily responsible for electricity transmission across Ontario and is also the local distribution utility for much of rural Ontario. Most urban centres and highly populated areas are serviced by one of the Local Hydro Utilities listed elsewhere in the site.

Electricity System Dispatch

Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)

The IESO balances the supply of and demand for electricity in Ontario and then directs its flow across the province's transmission lines.
